The Artist

Ken DeWaard began his art career in Chicago and continued his studies at the American Academy of Art where he studied with the accomplished watercolorist, Irving Shapiro. His work is strongly inspired by artists like John Singer Sargent, Joaquin Sorolla, William Wendt, Edgar Payne, Nicolai Fechin, and the Russian Impressionists. He finds himself drawn to painting various subject matter from everyday life. His excitement and passion for his work are captured in the fleeting effects of light and the wonderful color nuances in his paintings. Ken’s style of plein air painting is marked by his pure approach and his bravura brush style, painting directly from life.

The Demonstration

Award-winning artist, Ken DeWaard will give a demonstration at Studio B Gallery on Friday during the week of Plein Air Easton. Stop by for an entertaining 2 hour demonstration and some light refreshments.
